The CPN-Maoist saw an interior upset on Saturday, as General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa expelled Chairman Mohan Baidya to assume control over the gathering reins, preparing for gathering's merger with the UCPN (Maoist).
Thapa's turn came a day after Baidya canceled gathering's planned Central Committee (CC) meeting.
Thapa is said to have the backing of more than 66% of CC individuals.
Pampha Bhusal, party representative and a pioneer near Thapa, said that the gathering chose to choose [Thapa] as the new director after endeavors to persuade Baidya on plan to blend CPN-Maoist with the mother party fizzled. "A formal declaration of merger will be made in a week," she said.
The gathering has likewise formally supported the new administrator's 13-point proposition for its solidarity with the UCPN (Maoist).
